2018 Preliminary Financial Plan

 A preliminary Financial Plan for 2018 approved by the Capital Regional District (CRD) Board is now available on the CRD website for public review and feedback. The plan reflects and responds to a strong and vibrant economy, as evidenced by a surge of development and population growth in the capital region. The preliminary Financial Plan is subject to change prior to final approval by the CRD Board in March. Comments and feedback will be correlated and provided to the Board as part of the budget approval process. The deadline to provide feedback is February 28, 2018. Read more >>

Program Initiatives

Regional Parks Nature Programs and Centres

Tell us how we are doing! We would like your feedback on some of the nature outings and programs offered through CRD Regional Parks.

The CRD is developing a management plan for Matthews Point Regional Park on Galiano Island, to guide park management, development and use. There are two rounds of public engagement planned during the management plan process. As part of the first round, a public session is taking place on Saturday, November 18 on Galiano Island to gather input about the park environment, current visitor use patterns, and issues. Learn more about how you can get involved.

Active Transportation

The CRD has launched the Origin-Destination Household Travel Survey. Randomly selected households will receive an invitation letter in the mail. Participants will be asked where and why they travel that day and how they get there. If you receive the invitation in the mail, please participate.

Board and Committees

Address the Board

As a member of the public, you may communicate with the CRD Board, Committees and Commissions in two ways:

  • Submit your comments in writing to the Corporate Officer
  • Speak to an agenda item

Participate on a Committee

Business is typically brought to the CRD Board through Committees or Commissions. Committees and Commissions provide advice and recommendations to a number of CRD services and initiatives and are often comprised of volunteer members. The membership is selected to reflect a wide range of experience and interest in the specific service area and other professions.

The CRD invites applications from volunteers interested in serving on the Solid Waste Management Committee to provide input on solid waste management matters and advise on the development of a major revision of our region’s Solid Waste Management Plan.  Applications will be accepted until December 29, 2017.  For more information visit our Solid Waste Management page.
